Calligraphy

Have you thought about trying your hand at calligraphy?
Here are some tips to get stated & practise every day, even just for 10 minutes.

Set up, right handed people set up in the right. Left handed people set up your pens and inks on your left side.

Attach a few layers to your table, this may make it easier to write on.

Correct Grip.  Take the pen and hold it between your thumb and index finger, supported by your middle finger. Hold it secure, not tight. A vertical hold will make a thinner line, allowing only the tip of the pen to touch the paper. Holding on an angle will create a thicker line.

Hairline, light up strokes while down strokes are thicker and harder.

Warm up with writing some squiggles, start with simple shapes and curves.
Try to get a rhythm in your movement.

Practice writing  a font,  A through  to Z

Spacing and width
All letters have different widths, a double ‘L’ will need more space between them than the spacing between ‘A’ and ‘L’

Create a rhythm, and then start to practise writing sentences.
